|
| IEEE TUFFC Will Have a Change of Editor-in-Chief, Starting January 1, 2008 |
On January 1, 2008, the current Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency
Control (TUFFC), Dr. Marjorie Yuhas, will become the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of TUFFC. Dr. Yuhas will succeed Professor Jian-yu Lu
who will have served the maximum number of two three-year EIC terms allowed by the UFFC bylaws from January 1, 2002 to
December 31, 2007. To view the operations of TUFFC during the past six years and the challenges and opportunities of
TUFFC in the future, please visit the links: "TUFFC Operation Statistics and Trend",
"Tricks for AEs to Use MC, and Discussions on Open Access and Impact Factor", and

Dr. Jian-yu Lu would like to take this opportunity to express his sincere thanks to all who have helped TUFFC in the past and would appreciate your continued help and support of TUFFC in the future.

TUFFC Started Publishing Color Figures Online from October 2006 Issue |
Starting with
the October 2006 issue, the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics,
and Frequency Control (TUFFC) publishes color figures online with
corresponding grayscale figures in print without additional charges
if authors follow the multimedia manuscript submission procedure
in the Information
for Contributors. The “color figures” icon in http://www.ieee-uffc.org/tr/mexample_icons.zip
indicates in the print version of the Transactions that a color
version of the figure is available online. It also links to the
color figure submitted originally by the authors for viewing details.
Because of the sizes of color figures and the additional editorial
work such as making two sets of PostScript files in which they remain
identical after replacing grayscale with color, authors should request
color figures online only when it is necessary. The color figure
must be in JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert Group) or GIF (Graphics
Interchange Format) format to reduce file size and to decrease the
bandwidth usage on the TUFFC server.

TUFFC Started Accepting Submission of Multimedia Manuscripts
on August 1, 2003 |
On August 1, 2003, the IEEE Transactions
on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control (TUFFC) started to accept submission of multimedia
manuscripts via its Manuscript Central website: http://tuffc-ieee.manuscriptcentral.com.
Detailed information for preparation and submission of multimedia manuscripts is in the
"Information for Contributors". An example of PDF multimedia file is at:
http://www.ieee-uffc.org/tr/mexample.pdf. The multimedia contents (color pictures, sound, movies, or animations) can be
accessed by clicking on appropriate multimedia icons within the PDF file.
If you don't have
a fast internet connection, or you want to avoid difficulties due to
complicated layers
of internet security settings, you may download the following
zip-compressed file to your computer for a smooth playback of multimedia
contents.
After
unzipping the file, a folder (directory) "mexample" that contains all relevant
multimedia files is produced. In this folder, please open the file,
mexample.pdf, and then click on the icons in the file for your multimedia
experiences.
The zip-compressed multimedia example is downloadable from:
http://www.ieee-uffc.org/tr/mexample.zip. For your convenience, multimedia icons (zip compressed) for production of TUFFC are also availabe for your use. The file is downloadable from:
http://www.ieee-uffc.org/tr/mexample_icons.zip.

TUFFC Started Using Manuscript Central on June 1, 2002 |
To
speed up the review process and shorten the time between manuscript
submission and publication, on June 1, 2002, the IEEE Transactions
on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control (TUFFC) adopted
an electronic submission and peer-review system, Manuscript
Central (MC). All manuscripts are accepted electronically only
- through the TUFFC Manuscript Central at the website: http://tuffc-ieee.manuscriptcentral.com/.
For detailed information for preparation and submission of your
manuscripts via MC, please click the link "Information
for Contributors".
To facilitate the peer-review process, we have established a Technical
Interest Profiling System (TIPS).
A full list of the TIPS is in the "Information
for Contributors". When submitting a manuscript, authors are requested
to select ONE and ONLY ONE of the TIPS categories and subcategories (i.e.,
choose one category and one subcategory that belongs to the category) that
best reflects the focus of their manuscript.
| Become
a Reviewer of the TUFFC |
Becoming a reviewer of the IEEE TUFFC is as simple as creating an account
in MC. If you don't have an account, please click on the link
http://tuffc-ieee.manuscriptcentral.com/ and
then click on the icon "Create a New Account" to create one. It will
take about a couple of minutes to create an account. Please indicate your
areas of expertise by entering Key Words in the Account Information screen.
We appreciate your participation and help. The document Guide
for Reviewers has a step-by-step guide for you to review a manuscript
for the TUFFC in MC.
If you already have an
account, please update your information whenever your email address and other
personal information is
changed. Please login to the TUFFC MC and then click on "Edit
Your Information". If you forget your User ID and/or Password,
please click on the icon "Check for Existing Account" and
you will receive your account information via email.
