UFFC | Welcome
Message from the Web Editors
The UFFC website has a new look! We hope you enjoy our new layout and find it easy to use. We have tried to make it easy for you to find what you are looking for. We have Quick Links to popular information in the upper right of each page. There is a Site Map link in the right sidebar to give you a bird's eye view of the site. We also try to make it easy to back track from any of the deeper pages on our site. We anticipate that there will be ongoing tweaks as we transition from the old to the new. We encourage you to contact us if you have questions or comments (good or bad). Our compliments and thanks are extended to Kendall Waters (previous Web Editor-in-Chief) who spearheaded these changes.

A Greeting from the UFFC Society President
Welcome to the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society (UFFC) website.
UFFC is a Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), with an international membership of about 2200. As an all-volunteer group, we always seek the ideas and help of our Society members to support both our technical programs and our administrative activities. Please contact me if you would like to become involved in some way.
The UFFC is sponsoring the upcoming Symposia:
- Aug. 23-27, 2009: The 18th IEEE International Symposium on the Applications of Ferroelectrics (Joint Meeting of IMF-12 and ISAF-18), Xian, China.
- Oct. 11-14, 2010: 2010 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium, San Diego, California.
- Jun. 1-4, 2010: 2010 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium, Newport Beach, CA, USA
These meetings offer a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues and customers as well as to hear about the most recent advances in the field. More detailed information about each of these meetings is available on the conference web sites.
Also keep in mind that our Society's Distinguished Lecturer for 2008-2009 is Dr. Peter Burns of the University of Toronto and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He has a long track record of innovation regarding imaging and therapy with ultrasound and microbubble contrast agents; his talk will focus on "Bubbles and ultrasound: A new partnership for medical imaging."
Thank you for visiting,
Susan Trolier-McKinstry
