2010 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium

Tutorials 1 June 2010, Symposium 2-4 June 2010
Newport Beach Marriott Hotel, Newport Beach, California, USA

An Invitation from the Technical Program Chair, Dr. Clark T.-C. Nguyen

The International Frequency Control Symposium is the premiere venue for dissemination of new discoveries on the knowledge and methodologies of frequency control. The next instance of the symposium will meet in Newport Beach, California, from June 1-4. Historically, this international meeting not only brings together experts in the frequency control community from around the world; but also attracts researchers in other fields seeking to educate or update themselves on symposium topics, which include resonator design and technology, technologies for miniaturization and heterogeneous integration, such as MEMS or NEMS, high-stability oscillators, optical and microwave frequency standards and time transfer, and resonant sensors and transducers. I am delighted to invite authors to submit papers presenting recent and original work in frequency control. Please read the call for papers for the full list of topics and submission details.

The day preceding the symposium will feature tutorials by internationally recognized experts on a broad range of topics in frequency control. The 3 day technical meeting will include a full program of oral and poster presentations, as well as the now familiar student paper competition. This year, the conference will showcase the latest in MEMS technologies for frequency control, with a plenary talk and several invited talks on this subject, plus some intriguing (and perhaps controversial) panel discussions.

Complementing the technical program will be an extensive exhibit area staffed by representatives from leading manufacturers and suppliers of frequency control products and equipment from around the world.

I encourage you to submit abstracts for the technical meeting, and to set aside these dates to participate in this premier international meeting. Newport Beach offers participants a beautiful venue for the meeting and after-hour enjoyment.

I hope to see and welcome you in Newport Beach.
