ABSTRACT A new method of compensating the frequency-temperature dependence of high-Q monolithic sapphire dielectric resonators near liquid nitrogen temperature is presented. This is achieved by doping monocrystalline sapphire with Ti3+ ions. This technique offers significant advantages over other methods.
