Improved Contrast Ultrasound with Tissue Harmonic Minimizing Pulse

ABSTRACT We have computed predistorted pulses that minimize tissue harmonics to <-25 dB compared to fundamental over a 4-cm depth in the focal region using a Hankel transform-based algorithm. The results indicate their potential in achieving patient independent improvement in contrast with microbubbles using wideband ultrasonic transducers at high mechanical indices.
