Searching by Date |
The documents in the Digital Archive have been assigned dates to sort by date of original publication rather than the date the PDF file was last modified. When using the sort by date function, the date shown will be the assigned date. You may also use the assigned dates in an advanced search to limit your search by year of original publication.
Due to limitations on how far back dates could be assigned, we were unable to assign the actual date of publication. Because we could not assign the actual date, we used a month and year to represent each year of publication. The table below shows this correspondence.

Sorting by date will place the most recently published items first in the list. To sort by date you may either use the Advanced search and choose that sorting option, or you may simply select "sort by date" at the top or bottom of any search results to re-sort them.
To restrict your search by date of original publication, you will need to know the assigned dates for the years you wish to search. You may obtain the assigned date from the table above. If you are plan to do many searches using different time periods, you may wish to open this page in a new window.
The search by date function is only available in an Advanced search. Following the text entry fields, you will see a set of options under the heading "dated". Enter your starting and ending dates in the fields provided. Remember, you must use the assigned dates, not the actual date of publication. For example, if you wish to restrict your search to the 1960's, you would search for publications dated on or after 1 November 1982 (the assigned date for 1960), and before 1 September 1983 (the assigned date for 1970).

Maintenance on the Ferroelectrics/Dielectrics, Frequency Control, and Ultrasonics collections has been completed, and they may be searched. The Transactions/Newsletter and the Other Publications collection should be available within the next day or two. You may still access any material by browsing the archive.
