Policies and Procedures

November 7, 1999

The UFFC Society (UFFC-S) Web Editor-in-Chief and Webmaster are appointed by the UFFC-S President.  Web Editors, one each for Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, are appointed by the Vice-Presidents for Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, respectively.

The UFFC-S Editor-in-Chief shall have overall responsibility for the UFFC-S web site.  The Webmaster shall be responsible for maintaining the web site, and shall be the only one authorized to change the web site.  The Webmaster shall receive instructions and the information to be placed on the web site, only from the Web Editor-in-Chief, and, when the Editor-in-Chief is unavailable, from the UFFC-S VP for Publications.

The content of the UFFC-S home page is the responsibility by the UFFC-S Web Editor-in-Chief. The contents of the Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control pages are the responsibility of the Web Editors of the respective pages. The Web Editors for Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control shall transmit information to be posted onto the web site to the Editor-in-Chief, who will review the information prior to forwarding it to the Webmaster.

The home page shall include information of general interest - to be provided primarily by the vice-chairs, Transactions editor-in-chief, standing committee chairs, etc.  The Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control pages shall include technical-area specific information, such as information on upcoming and past symposia, awards, historical information, review and tutorial papers, other reference information, and links to external information.

The tutorials shall consist primarily of those that have been presented either by a UFFC-S distinguished lecturer, or at a UFFC-S symposium by a tutorial lecturer whose submission has been judged suitable for posting on the website by both the current tutorial chair and the web editor responsible for the subject-matter.
